The business value Identity Manager gives us is, of course, the high rate of optimization. We have identity management, but we also have the ability to be able to connect nearly every system to One Identity.

The Story

As a leading medical product provider, security risks were the biggest concern for Paul Hartmann AG. Their clients in wound care, hospitals, surgery centers and home care all needed top-notch identity and access management (IAM). But to get this, Hartmann needed to consolidate their legacy IT systems for easier join level creation, and they hoped to optimize their provisioning and permissions processes along the way.

That’s why they have spent the last 10 years with One Identity.

“For us, identity management is not a project – it’s a continuous process,” said Simon Thamasett, IT Manager and Solution Architect at Hartmann.

The number of connectors provided by Identity Manager allowed Paul Hartmann AG to connect different types of IT systems, including their ITSM portal and more. Now, they can offer their end users more self-service capabilities, faster request fulfilment and less generic tickets.

Paul Hartmann AG knew that managing identities through their lifecycle and keeping “good housekeeping” within their systems would be the surest way to protect their data. Having Identity Manager organize and monitor identities from creation to role changes to deletion optimized their directories and streamlined their workloads.

“Our current journey is to optimize more and more inside identity management,” Thamasett noted, “This means we have to connect One Identity to our ITSM tool, and this helps us to optimize the end user requests.”
