One Identity and Active Roles connector slow

Hello Experts,

I'm having issues with two environments moving from Native AD connector to ARS connector. I would imagine the initial sync should take longer with it having to proxy through and the additional virtual attributes created with the ARS schema. Although the sync is outrageously slow. I've looked into the DB server, Job Server, ARS Server and the DC the ARS Server is bound to. I'm unable to determine why the sync has moved from 20 mins full sync from AD direct to over 3 days to run a ARS full sync. I ran a full sync in one environment and it completed in 3 days, one would think it would be a bit faster after the that. It however has not got any better after the initial synch.

I have logged a ticket and waiting for support to provide some guidance. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this or can provide any clue on where to look to find the issue.

Thank you to anyone who can help.

  • Hi Lu,

Unfortunately, I don't have a solution, but the same problem as you. Were you able to solve it? I have also opened a ticket.

  • Hi Alex, I have not made the complete move to ARS from Native AD yet. I did find that making sure the SQL Server behind ARS as well as the ARS server itself should be in the same VLAN as the JobServer and the DC. This did improve some timing but currently only syncing in from ARS and only groups. I'm still working out some kinks and still working with support. I plan to try again in a month or so and will get support behind me if I come up with any more issues.
