I'm looking for a page that lists the supported upgrade paths between versions. Having to go through every releases' notes is very time consuming and likely to miss critical information and cause confusion with sub component requirements.
Really just after something fully official that represents the constraints (below very much made up), can then use the Installation Guide to determine the exact s/w requirements:
8.x => 9.0 LTS
9.x => 10.0 LTS
So, that would say that going from a v8 to a v10 requires hopping via 9.0 (or whatever is actually compatible). This just provides customers with a quick view of the technical limitations when trying to catch up with maintained releases.
