Password Manager Upgradation

Hi All,

Currently we are running a password Manager 5.7 and planned to upgrade 5.8.2 , the below listed doubts to be clarified in order to proceed.

1. Can we directly upgrade from 5.7 to 5.8.2?

2. Without uninstalling the current Version is it possible to migrate the required version?

3. And We have Admin ,Help -Desk and End User consoles are deployed in three different servers. are the three to be upgraded separately?

4. Kindly share the up-gradation guide. or Video Tutorial for the same.

Thanks in advance.

  • Hello Mohamed,

Please see the answers to your questions in-line below:

Q1. Can we directly upgrade from 5.7 to 5.8.2?
A1. Yes you can directly upgrade to 5.8.2 from 5.7.0

Q2. Without uninstalling the current Version is it possible to migrate the required version?
A2. If you are installing PM on the same server you must remove the existing installation as part of the upgrade process.

Q3. And We have Admin ,Help -Desk and End User consoles are deployed in three different servers. are the three to be upgraded separately?A3. You will first upgrade the “primary” server, one the upgrade complete on the Primary, create a new Export file from the 5.8.2 Primary installation to use on the other server. The other servers you can simply uninstall PM 5.7.0-> install 5.8.2 and import the Primary export file.

Q4. Kindly share the up-gradation guide. or Video Tutorial for the same.sdd

  • When up grading from 5.7.1 to 5.8.2 you can simply perform an in-place upgrade, no need to un-install first.  Older versions such as 5.7.0 and older do require an uninstall and reinstall.

Regarding the error encountered please see the following solution:

    https://support.oneidentity.com/password-manager/kb/266591/unable-to-remove-expired-licensing-to-update-workflow-266591-

Please let me know if this helps.

    Thanks
