Error "Specify either an Account by ID or credentials, not both"

Hi Everyone,

While trying to add a domain user in SPP, the appliance keeps loading for users from AD but fails to find the user. Upon checking the AD integration for connection, it consistently gives an error stating, 'Specify either an Account by ID or credentials, not both.' I have already updated my appliance from version 7.0.1 LTS to 7.0.3 LTS, but the issue persists. Has anyone experienced a similar behavior, and if there is a solution available, your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Attached images in below link for reference, Thank you.

  • Hi,

It seems the password was changed for the AD Asset "service account" or it may be locked and not allowing SPP to communicate with AD in this case.

Please check Asset Management > Assets > Select the Active Directory Asset > verify that the service account defined in the connection tab has the correct password and then perform a Test Connection.

Note: The password for the service account used to communicate with AD can only be updated on the AD Asset side fyi, even if you type the correct password in the Identity and authentication  provider it will not update correctly unless you make the change from the AD asset as shown above.

Once this is successful then confirm that the Appliance Management > Safeguard Access > Identity and authentication > Select the AD provider > make sure that the service account here can now test connection successfully as well.

If both the AD asset and AD provider for authentication test successfully then you can try again to add a directory user and verify if all good.

    Thanks!
