Add SPS central node as Session appliance

Hello,

in my environment there are two SPS appliances. I linked SPP and SPS and automatically I got the non-primary SPS appliance as session appliance on SPP.

Is it possible to add even the second one in order to let the connections go through this appliance to or not?

Thank you

  • Hello Sabino,

Is the primary SPS appliance role set as "Search Master"? In that case this will not work. Search master nodes cannot be used for monitoring network traffic, or for session recording and auditing purposes.

  • Hello Darko,

actually it is not set as "Search Master", but it only has "Central management, Search local" roles.

  • Hello Sabino,

i tested this in my lab and this is what i found out.

I have 1 SPP and two SPS.

SPS1 has role of Central management, Search local

SPS2 has role Managed host, Search local

I linked SPS to SPP cluster from SPS1 node.

On the SPP node under Appliance Management -> Cluster -> Managed Networks i only see SPS1 as Session Managed by option.

Even if i try and add another network rule and select both SPS servers, only the Primary SPS1 is shown in this new rule.

I disabled Managed host option on SPS2 and Commited,  but then changed it back on after a minute or two.

And then, when i deleted my custom rule on SPP, both servers have shown up as Session Managed By option in the Default Managed Network rule.

One of those actions did the trick i guess. So, now i see both. Slight smile

    Can you reproduce this behavior?

    Best regards,

    Darko
