yes it does. You can create certificates with openssl tools and use them in Safeguard. Connecting to Safeguard web interface from linux also works which usually uses openssl library for ssl/tls communication.
There is high probability that this library is also used internally.
SPP does support OpenSSL certificates if that is your question.
If you 're asking, does SPP use OpenSSL internally, then the answer is no, not directly. From what I can tell, we do have a third party component that uses OpenSSL. However, its not accessible to the end user, since is based on a hardened appliance design.
