How syslog-ng check specific host alive.

Greetings,

I have a question about how syslog-ng check specific host alive, does syslog-ng have this function?

For example, if I have three hosts, how can I know which host is disconnected, where to show the disconnected host?

  • Hello Pong Chang,

Syslog-ng does not have such function.
You can get a list of hosts that have sent log messages to syslog-ng with /opt/syslog-ng/sbin/syslog-ng-ctl show-license-info
Use netstat -anp | grep syslog-ng command to get the active connections to syslog-ng.
