IP Change for DPA Device

Hi Team,

we would like to change ip from one subnet to another subnet for one of our DPA devices. re-IP (10.112.30.100/24 to 10.110.74.161/24)

we have total 6 DPAs in our cluster with 3 TPAM devices, One is primary and two as replicas.

Please advise the process for ip change and also confirm if there is any downtime involved in this activity. Thank you.

  • This is taken from KB87412 "How to: Change the IP address of your TPAM 2.5.9XX appliances" and gives the high level steps you need to follow to change the IP address of a DPA.

    Hope this helps.

    Change a DPAs IP address

    1. Log on to the DPA locally or through iDRAC using the dpasetup user, or through SSH using the rdpasetup user
    2. Select "Manage network settings", then select "Modify ethX networking settings", selecting the correct eth0 or eth1 interface
    3. Enter the new IP address, Subnet mask, Default gateway and MTU siz
    4. Log on to the admin interface of the PRIMARY
    5. Select System Status/Settings | Cluster Management from the menu.
    6. Select the DPA that is changing in the Cluster Member list.
    7. Select the Network Address check box.
    8. Enter the new IP address.
    9. Click the Check Address button.
    10. If the address is found, click the Save button. The other cluster members (Replicas and DPAs) will discover the IP address change through the normal replication updates.
