Initial Setup of SPP & SPS on VM Ware

Hello Experts,

Can anyone suggest here, how to do initial setup of SPS & SPP on VMWare? We deployed iso and OVA image on VM and we are not able to assign IP to SPP & SPS.

1. in case of SPP we logged in through Bootstrap administrator but for SPS, nothing is mentioned in Appliance setup guide for VMWare. It covered only HyperV Steps

2. Once Access done, please suggest the steps to assign ip. We were trying to following (Configure the primary network interface (X0) - Page no 11 on Appliance Setup guide) but unable to do so.

Please suggest a way forward for IP assignment of SPP & SPS and intial setups. Would be great if someone can provide steps to do so.

Many Thanks,

Sushant

  • Starting with SPP.

By default the OVA file has ah IP address of 192.688.0.105 configured on X0. The Config port is as per the Physical appliance 102.168.1.105.

However when you carry out the initial configuration you login to the Kiosk with the default bootstrap admin account  and configure the initial network settings and licensing etc from here.

For SPS the process is a little different.

First in your VM environment you deploy an Ubuntu 64 bit system with the SPS ISO image selected. You then power up the virtual machine, it will boot from the ISO image and build the SPS appliance.

When the process has finished if you look at the last line it will tell you the default IP address that you need to point your web browser at to login to the SPS web interface to complete the configuration.

You will need to adjust your network settings to allow you to access the SPS image.
