Keynote: The Future of Identity Management

This session describes the TechVision Research perspective on the future state of Identity and Access Management (IAM). We believe Identity Management is the KEY element to any digital transformation program. As enterprises move to the cloud, better engage with their customers, partners, employees and “things”, the next generation IAM services must accommodate these new types of objects and relationships at much larger scale. We’ll examine some of the bleeding edge technologies as well as the reality of how to “keep the plane in the air” as we are building the next generation aircraft. Topics will range from the reality of supporting hybrid IAM, to new governance models, to disruptive approaches such as decentralized identity models.

We believe that this future state must be more inclusive, context aware, user-centric, while supporting diverse object types and expanding privacy requirements. But understanding where Identity Management is going won’t be enough; we’ll also describe an overarching architecture, our roadmap and provide some specific advice to enterprises. While we can’t definitively predict the future, we can prepare by investing in the right foundational identity systems and services.

Identity Governance Lessons Learned from the “First” Russian Hacking
Over thirty years ago, an astronomer and reluctant IT administrator at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California stumbled across what became the first publicly reported case of Russian sponsored computer hacking. Detecting the hack was only the beginning. Discovering the identity of the hacker was the critical element in preventing future attacks. This case teaches us many lessons around security that still apply today, the main one being identity governance is the foundation of IT security.

Presenters: Wayne Beaudin, Senior Product Architect
    Cloud-One Identity Starling Technology Breakout
We often hear from customers that they are torn between their current on-prem investments and leveraging new systems to move their company forward. BREAKOUT SESSIONS

    Identity Governance Technology Breakout
A major focus is to manage access to privileged accounts. Yet privileged access initiatives often occur independently of standard IGA activities. An integrated approach to managing access to privileged and non-privileged accounts is needed.
This technical session will show how One Identity Manager and One Identity Safeguard solutions allow organizations to holistically manage access to privileged and non-privileged accounts. This integration demonstrates the Identity Lifecycle and Governance capabilities of One Identity Manager and the robust and visionary privileged account management features of One Identity Safeguard, thus affording greater visibility into and control over privileged users and entitlements.
Presenters: Viloun Viengluang , Principal Architect
    Privileged Access Management Technology Breakout
As our PAM portfolio evolves we continually strive to provide integration points between our products to deliver additional insight into your environment by consolidating data from multiple sources. Come to this session to see the new unified PAM auditing portal that combines Passwords, Sessions, and Sudo data to give you a detailed view of all of your privileged user activity and can help identify risk across your environment.

    Business Breakout
How can a company get compliant and maintain services during a merger and acquisition? What tools do I need and why? With all the new regulations, compliance is getting more and more complicated. This can heavily impact a company that is executing a merger, acquisition or divestiture. In some cases, there are clean room technology and information restrictions. In others, you have a preponderance of legal or business compliance requirements. Today’s legal and regulatory environment is not simple and getting less so. Let’s talk about the basic toolbox needed to plan successful M&A activity.

    Business Breakout
There are many Privacy laws and regulations that have been coming into force during the last year. This includes Europe’s GDPR, California’s CCPA and Brazil’s LGPD have gone into force and all have barring to the management of your company’s security and access controls. With all the new regulations coming into force, compliance is getting more and more complicated. In the past laws were simpler. The old story was based on external access. If you protected access from outside agents, you were compliant… or so most people thought. Today access controls and who has access are a huge part of privacy compliance. So today a company must control access from outside parties and internal parties. Additionally, most of these laws and regulations are based on extraterritorial controls, instead of just dealing companies operating within government boundaries.

    1. Am I in scope for privacy compliance?
    2. What are the privacy principals and how do they protect me? 3. If you have One Identity tools, what are some quick takeaways on how they help keep me compliant?

Rapid Development of SPS integrations and Custom Platform Support to SPP (2 hour)
Learn to create custom authentication (e.g. with MFA solutions) and/or authorization (e.g. ticketing systems) integrations by describing the communication steps between SPS and any external REST APIs in JSON format with no Python coding involved right from the SPS UI.

Sometimes customer environments include unique applications, uncommon platforms/operating systems, or specialized customizations that Safeguard does not include in its common platforms. In order to support assets that represent these scenarios, Safeguard includes a custom platform feature which allows the asset administrator to write a platform definition that instructs Safeguard on how to communicate with these assets. We call these platform definitions custom platform scripts.

Prerequisites: Identity Manager Expert; previous coursework or implementation work for Identity Manager Foundations

Identity Manager + SAP Boot camp is a 1 full day deep dive into our integration of SAP with our One Identity Manager solution. In this 1 day class, the students will learn more about:
Provisioning and access management in an SAP environment can be costly and error prone. With deep SAP integration and certification, One Identity’s IAM solutions get IAM right for SAP - and beyond - by automating process, securing access and enabling governance, which allows you to focus on strategic business objectives.

Take on IAM with the confidence that the technologies, partners and practices you rely on are certified by your most important technology provider – SAP. One Identity offers SAP-certified solutions for user-lifecycle management (provisioning, re-provisioning, and de-provisioning), governance (attestation and audit), and authentication (single sign-on and password encryption to both SAPgui and NetWeaver implementations).
