Change Active Roles 6.9 SQL Server

We're looking to change the SQL server attached to our Active Roles Server 6.9 to a new SQL server.

Are there any instructions on how to do this or has anyone done this before? I know this is an old AR version, and am struggling to find any information related to this version.

We can export/import the SQL database OK, but changing the AR connection is a mystery at the moment.

From memory, the database connection strings were stored in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | SOFTWARE | Aelita | Enterprise Directory Manager, but could also be in a "dell software" container, instead of Aelita.

However, ActiveRoles server 6.9 went out of support in 2019, I would recommend upgrading to a supported version.

ActiveRoles Server 6.9 supported up to

    • Windows Server 2012 R2
    • SQL Server 2012
    • Exchange 2013
    • Min Forest Functional Level Windows Server 2003
