Approval workflow - Ask question

Hi Team.

I have an approval workflow that starts when a VA on a computer object is set to TRUE. The person setting the VA is then prompted with a box to supply some details of why is being changed.

Do you know if there is a way that it can ask you or prompt you to supply some info. For example, the change is happening on a computer object but that computer object is used by a user. So i was thinking a prompt to say Please supply the username and this user name value is supplied in the request?

Let me know if that's not clear and will expand further.

You already have an Approval process in play that prompts for a reason for the request. Could you not just tell them to supply the username in that box and then you can mine it out of the Approval request?

Am I missing something here?

In an ideal world they would supply it in the request and thats what we tell them to do. Sometimes they forget to do it. Which is why i was trying to find a way to capture or prompt them for it.

Could you not "FAIL" / "REJECT" the Approval process if you don't find a username in the reason? Granted, you would have to notify them somehow.

If they are 'forgetting' to fill out an attribute, it could be made mandatory with a Provisioning Policy.
