Authentication change from Windows Authentication to SQLServer Authentication

Hello,

 

I have three questions about Spotlight.

 

First, I use Spotlight for monitoring SQLServer. And now my authentication is windows authentication.

I want to change my authentication to SQLServer Authentication.

I want to know is there any influence when I change connection details setting.

 

Second, I am concerned about sysadmin authority needed for gathering data on Spotlight .

Does Spotlight only collect data? It never affect on my SQLServer? (for example, insert or update any data.)

 

Third, I want to know what data does Spotlight collect and where does Spotlight store such data.

 

I would appreciate it if someone tell me. Or some documentation url abount questions are also welcome.

    Each SQL Server connection from the Spotlight Diagnostic Server must have access to a SQL Server account that is a member of the sysadmin server role. This can be a SQL Server login (such as 'sa'), or the Spotlight Diagnostic Server can be installed to run under a Windows account that is trusted by SQL Server. Listed below is a url that explains in more detail the permissions needed for Spotlight:

    Spotlight only collects data for monitoring purposes. Spotlight writes data to the Playback Database for recent historical information and the Spotlight Statistics Repository for long term history for reporting and trending is stored in the Spotlight Statistics Repository if you have created one.
