One Identity Licensing Counts

How do you determine the number of licenses used in One Identity Manager?  Is there a report or a specific value that can be checked?

We'd like to synchronize our test domain into IDM so we can make changes to ADSAccount objects and I was wondering how this would be treated in regards to licenses.  How do you determine your license usage for One Identity Manager?  If we synchronize this domain but not use person records to manage these accounts will it still require a license?

What determines the # of licenses used?

Link from v6.x to the license meter that comes with identity manager since you didn't specify a version . If you're having issues determining if you're sufficiently licensed it's best to reach out to your One Identity representative and get an official statement. Take a look at the license meter tool.
  • Thank you! Unfortunately we are on version 7.0 so I don't think that utility is available to us. I'm just trying to get feedback on what determines a managed account in IDM.

I'm curious if a person record linked to one or more target systems with a level of automation = managed account qualifies as 1 license used?
  • Enable/active Managed Persons counts towards the total license count. Doesn't matter what level of automation or how many linked accounts there are to that person.

The licenseMeter.exe application is there, check under your installation folder. This view from v8.0

  • This has always been available in 7.x.  You can also run the Launchpad, and then click on "Manage" -> "Create license report".   This opens up the License Meter that Paul was referring to.

Also, please keep in mind that the report will only work if your "Database staging level" is set to "Production".  If it's in "Development" mode, you will get an empty report.

You will get a report similar to this:

  • HI Team,

I have one doubt here, i got the report as per the steps given above, but Managed Person for our environment is 3397 but Hardware having Active Directory account is 255, what is meant by Hardware having active directory account please explain
