Web Server crashed. How to restore

Hello All,

We have a OIM installation with 2 Web Servers. One server crashed and the machine is not recoverable anymore.

What would the best approach to reinstall it?

Shall I use same name? I ask this because I have the feeling that the name of the webserver is stored in the DB of OIM. Or, am I wrong?

Thank you

  • In that case, the table QBMWebApplication contains an entry for your crashed server that contains additional configuration settings like OAuthClientID etc. The column BaseURL contains the URL of the web portal installed on the crashed system. But the URL is only just in two cases, as far as I know. There is a matching appSetting in the web.config that will be used to load the additional settings from the table QBMWebApplication and second use case is the Jobe Queue Info, at the Web servers tab in the Job server state window.

From OneIM point of view, it doesn't matter if you re-install it on a different machine. You can (manually) copy your old settings from the old entry in QBMWebApplication to the new one.

But if you have two web portals, you might also have a load balancer placed in front of them. In that case, you need to change the configuration of the load balancer as well.
