Auto Update loop

I cannot get into any of the 1IM tools, Designer, Launchpad e.t.c. When I start for instance Launchpad , I get Auto Update prompt "The are updates for your application...". I click Yes then the automatic system updates appear to run ( I have to shut the Launchpad process). After the updates are complete nothing happens, though in the past (in different installation) I have seen that Launchpad finishes launching. In my case, since nothing happens, if I launch Launchpad again the same update prompt appears and the cycle repeats.

Any ideas?

What version of OneIM are you using?

Is OneIM installed in the default location or did you just copy the binaries somehow?

Hi Markus,

I just updated v8.0.0 to v8.0.1 on the one I can't access. This is a DEV environment with multiple instances installed in custom folders, not C:\Program....

Do you see an InstallState.config file in your bin directory?

Do you have a hidden file SoftwareRevision.vivin the directory as well? In addition, please check the file update.log for any errors.

Yes, I have the .viv file with number and timestamp. Checking log file, only error I have is:

E File '...\AccountBasedUserAuthenticator.resources.dll' cannot be renamed.
E Access to the path is denied.

I think this error is the reason why the update appears over and over again. Just try to delete the existing file and try again to see if it is working then.

The issue is not resolved after re-update. "Access to the path is denied." error recurred in update.log. Investigating, might start from scratch as this is sandpit environment.

Try to go to the folder when you have One Identity Software Installed and execute Launchpad.exe from there. The problem seems like you are not launching the app from the correct path

Hi, I can confirm I'm executing the binary from within the folder where I installed by browsing to it and double-clicking the relevant .exe.

On looking closer in the update.log, somewhere near the bottom a rollback is invoked for some reason as shown below so I don't think the update is not completing. I think that the "Access to the path is denied." error is only indicating the rollback is encountering an error in restoring the file listed.

Issue resolved. Deleted entire binary folder and re-ran setup.
