How to transfer Identity Manager customizations from v6.1 to v8.0.1

Hello,

I inherited the administration of Identity Manager v6.1 at our company and I was tasked to upgrade to v8.0.1 due to the fact it was required to continue vendor support.  During the upgrade, it was discovered the current OS and MSSQL version was not compatible with Identity v8.0.1 so as a result, it was decided to create a new environment of v8.0.1 alongside production and transfer over any customizations.  Once ready and tested, all client references will be transferred over.

Now that the new environment is up and running, I notice there are specific web customizations to transfer over and I am afraid I may miss some or others are incompatible with the different versions of Identity Manager.  Is there a recommended procedure to thoroughly transfer all customizations from v.6.1 to v8.0.1?

Please and thank you.

Regards,

Hop

As Markus pointed out, going from version 6 to version 8 is a fairly involved and complex process. You will need to upgrade to version 7 first which will consume much of the time as the database and internal process have greatly changed.  It is a multi step process which we have to train our consultants on how to perform. There are a lot of best practices that you should follow to avoid any problems or issues. Let me know if you would like to set up a call to talk about it in more depth.

    Thanks
