Does adding to a AD group is sufficient to grant File system access to a user?

A user requested for File system access-Read and after completion of approval workflow the user is added to AD group successfully in One IM and in AD.

Is it sufficient to confirm that the user has access to File system?

How can i confirm that the user has access to File system(Folder) because the overview of user shows access to "Group" only and not to File system access.

Also, does that mean that for every folder which is under governance, i need to have different Read/Write groups in AD, so that we can distinguish the access (read/write) of users on different folders?
