One Identity Reports

Question

I'm deploying a Report built with the Report Editor to a customer running 8.1.2. The report uses conditional formatting and expressions to compose text. The customer has two environments. On the one environment, I can enter expressions using the syntax in the Stimulsoft documentation... which looks like C++ or C#. On the other environment, I get syntax errors on all expressions. There it seems to want VB syntax. What can be causing this? I don't see any setting in the Report Editor related to expression syntax.

The report engine supports both languages, VB.Net or C#. The used language can be controlled over the report settings as shown in the screenshot. 
 
 By default, the ootb reports and templates are using VB.Net to be consistent with the language used in the templates, etc. but you can use C# as well.
