Starting with version 8.2.x and up we have the database agent as possible, and from V9.X mandatory replacement of the SQL Agent based implementation for handling SQL based database queue tasks. The documentation for the database agent in the configuration guide does not talk about the performance and scaling characteristics of the database agent. The SQL Agent implementation it is replacing did not excel in performance and was even worse scaling wise. I would like to know ballpark figures of internal load test results for the database agent. Is the decision to introduce the database agent only based on supporting SQL Managed databases on Azure or are the times of waiting days before the list of attestations in the database queue have been processed behind us?
Thx,
