Date range check on requests when saving details

In the "old" Portal you are allowed to set valid from further to future than valid until when doing a request. Pressing the save does not trigger the check that this is not a valid date range. The check is done when the user performs submit. Is there a way to check this during the save button as well as that would be somewhat logical.
