Hi,
if you write a thread or a post in this forum then there seems to be an automatic spam check after posting it.
If this spam check says "its spam" then the thread or post is not delivered into the moderation queue.
The user does not receive a copy of his thread or post by email. So the data is written to /dev/0 (linux word for trash can) instantly with no chance of getting the text back and correct the "spam" thing.
The bad thing is that posting links can be marked as spam. If i write a big text (25 lines) with detailed information and explanations because i want to help a user. and if i post links in that post then my work of half an hour is gone and nobody will do the work again. so if wou want to improve your forum then you should urgently think about a new spam / moderation policy.
Having two groups of users would be helpful:
- new users: users that registered less than 1 weeks ago and have less than 10 posts. these posts will be moderated
- good behaviour users: users that registered more than 1 week ago and have more than 10 posts. these posts will be not moderated.
If you have a spam filter before the moderation queue then please urgently send the text of the post out to the user by email so he has no data loss (work loss) if the spam filter strikes.
(I am actually copying every post i do here to a windows-editor bevor i post, to have no data loss.)
Thanks - Michael
