Starling Connect for SAP cloud Solutions

Hello!

Can someone help me with the following question?

I know that SAP has a Starling Connect connector for the following cloud-based solutions: SAP Concur and SAP SuccessFactors.

I would like to ask if Starling Connect is available for the following SAP cloud-based applications or what solution is used to connect to these cloud applications: SAP HCM, and SAP Ariba?

Thank you and kind regards

Ferenc

    Hi Ferenc,

You’re right, Starling Connect is primarily designed to integrate SAP Concur and SAP SuccessFactors with other applications through prebuilt connectors that simplify authentication, data mapping, and synchronization. However, for SAP HCM (on-premise) and SAP Ariba, the integration approach is different since these systems don’t use Starling Connect.

For SAP HCM, integration is usually handled through SAP Integration Suite (formerly CPI) or SAP Process Integration (PI/PO), depending on whether you’re using an on-premise or hybrid environment. These platforms provide iFlows and standard APIs to connect HCM with other SAP or third-party solutions.

For SAP Ariba, connectivity is managed through the Ariba Network APIs or Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG), which acts as the middleware between Ariba and your ERP system. CIG supports multiple protocols and simplifies integration through guided configuration and monitoring tools. If you’re pursuing SAP certifications or working on complex integration landscapes, resources from Pass4Future can help you understand the architecture and integration layers across SAP cloud solutions, including how Starling Connect fits within SAP’s broader connectivity strategy.
