As always the standard question, what version of One Identity are you using? And in this case specifically, is it 'normal' one Identity or Data governance Edition?

The reason I ask is that DGE is specifically suited for more in-depth management of unstructured data such as Shares, Sharepoint sites etc... (If you've never heard of DGE, read a bit here: https://support.oneidentity.com/technical-documents/identity-manager-data-governance-edition/9.0%20lts/deployment-guide#TOPIC-1851736)

But, to answer your question specifically, it really depends on a thousand questions regarding your use-case... :) Sorry to make it more complex...

There are standard process steps to handle file permissions (https://support.oneidentity.com/de-de/technical-documents/identity-manager/8.2.1/configuration-guide/52#TOPIC-1800488 the 'File component' step). However to use these you have to indicate what server you want to interact the file permissions on. As such it works well for 'simple' file permission actions such as setting permissions on a home directory but isn't great for full network discovery of your shares / files.

If your Shares are actually in Sharepoint, teams, or OneDrive it's different then if they are still on local storage. If they're on local storage how many servers are they spread across, can you deduce what share the permissions should go to based on the AD-group name etc?
