Exchange full access permission in Business role

Hi,

I have a complete Exchange configuration where I’ve also imported mailboxes along with information about which users have Full Access to them. These mailboxes essentially function as shared mailboxes, and I’m able to manually add or remove Azure accounts that have full access to them directly from the system.

However, I’ve noticed that these permissions are not treated as entitlements. This means I can’t assign them via Business Roles.

For example, if my team needs access to a mailbox X with Full Access, I can't assign that access to the whole group through a Business Role. When I check the Configure Role Assignment section for Business Roles, I don’t see any option related to this type of access as enteitelment.

Is there a way to enable this kind of assignment via Business Roles, or any recommended approach to manage it more efficiently?

Thank you.

  • Hi  ,

You can — assuming the Exchange module is installed — manage mailbox permissions using the standard tables such as O3eMailboxFullAccessPerm.
    Here, you can either:

    • assign the Entra ID account directly, or
    • use an Entra ID group to grant access to a mailbox.

If you use an Entra ID group, you can easily assign it through business roles without any issues.

Is this what you need, or are you looking for something different?
If not, I may have misunderstood your question.

    Cheers
    Marco
