Inquiry about Windows LTSC License for SPP and SPS deployment in virtual environment

We are in the process of deploying (SPP) and (SPS) in a virtualized environment and require clarification regarding Windows licensing requirements.

1. Windows LTSC License Requirement
• We understand that Windows LTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel) is recommended
• Could anyone please confirm which specific components require Windows 10 LTSC and provide guidance on why LTSC is required

2. Alternative License Options
• If Windows 10 LTSC is required, are there alternative licensing options that can be used for deployment

3. Number of Windows LTSC Licenses Required
• How many Windows 10 LTSC licenses are needed for a complete deployment of SPP and SPS in a virtual environment? example: we have 3 SPP in cluster and 2 SPS 
• Do the licenses apply per virtual machine, per appliance, or per user session?

4. Impact of Not Activating Windows LTSC License
• What are the implications if we proceed with deployment without activating Windows 10 LTSC?
• Would the system experience functionality limitations, security concerns, or compliance risks if we do not have an activated LTSC license?

    Hi,

    1. Deployment of SPP VMs in Hyper-V or VMware will require an OS License (in addition to the SPP product license)

    2. + 3.  You may contact your Sales representative to purchase the correct OS license from One Identity.

    - Windows OS license would be required for SPP VMs that are deployed in Hyper-V or VMware for example.

    - SPS does *not* require a Windows OS License (However both SPP and SPS do require Product licenses)

    4. SPP appliance would go into a Quarantine mode if not licensed after the 90 days grace period.
