SPP 7.5.1 On Demand - Certificate Authentication

Certificate Authentication feature has been applied to the environment.

The certificates require a PIN, and after typing in the PIN, user is still not logged in. When we check the activity center, it states User Authentication Failure due to "Bad Password".

We tried the setup for both Local users and Users from a Domain. For Local users, the login page just shows it processing it but the service center says its a User Authentication Failure. For User from a Domain, the error states "could not map certificate to an Active Directory user account", and the service center says  its a User Authentication Failure.

Has anyone else experienced this?

  • Hi Tawfiq, will check that out. But wanted to mention that although it worked when used with a local Safeguard account, it doesn't work when using an account imported from AD. When you try to use the certificate with no PIN for those accounts, the error is “Could not map certificate to an Active Directory user account.”

  • For AD Users, the authentication tab has this option enabled Require Certificate Authentication
