Audit Quest Active Roles Server policies - High level Audit

Hi,

I have a client requirement to audit all of the Quest Active role policies on version 6.9.

There is no easy way to do this ? Scripted extracts ? SQL script ?

All resources I find are the export via the GUI that dumps to ugly XML that cannot be interpreted by natively by PowerShell.

Any assistance required or do we raise a support call instead?

  • Audit Changes on ARS Configuration (Roles/AT permissions, Workflows/policies..., MU membership, VA values) - all can be seen in ARS Change History.

  • If you want to simply review the Access Templates and see where they are linked, you can do so by installing the optional Collector and Report packs that are included with the Active Roles installation media.

For 6.9 you can follow this guide:

    support.software.dell.com/.../43631

For 7.0 you can follow this guide:

    support.software.dell.com/.../156240

The Reports in particular are found under Administrative Roles:

    • Access Template Permissions
    • Access Template summary
    • Access Templates linked to Managed Units
    • Access Templates linked to Organization Units

The full path on the SQL Reporting Server for 6.9 is:
QKP > Quest One Active Roles > 6.9.0 > Administrative Roles

    For 7.0:
    Active Roles > 7.0.0 > Administrative Roles

You can also export any of these reports to XML, CSV, PDF, MHTML, Excel, TIFF and Word.
