Two Installations of IAM (Versions) at the same time, parallel operating

Hello,

At the moment I use Version 6.1.3 in my environment. I plan to include stuff like Azure AD, Exchange Online, Sharepoint and later probably Office 365 (when its out in the new Version 7). Is it reliable to have two instances of Identity Manager in an environment (one with Version 6.1.3 and one new with Version 7.1 for instance) installed and running? So I could use the 7.1 instance as kind of a backend to implement the Azure AD connector for example while still working with 6.1.3. Needed stuff could be gathered by implementing a Powershell Connector, or am I wrong?

At a later point I would like to migrate all the stuff from 6.1.3 to the new version and have one installation only.

Any thoughts appreciated!
