PCA Sending Randomly Generated Password

Hello all,

We have been attempting to implement a solution whereby a users SAP password is aligned with the AD password set when using password manager. This works correctly when a user is using password manager to change their password but not when a user has forgotten their password. Instead a randomly generated password is picked up by the Password Capture Agent and sent through to Q1IM and then sent on to the SAP system. The details Here give information relating to the process that is being performed by Password Manager as it creates a randomly generated password initially before implementing the users chosen password.

The only way I have been able to enable this is by disabling the password history check within the workflow for the forgotten password functionality. The correct password is sent by the Password Capture Agent and received by Q1IM.

Does anyone know how this can be corrected to allow for the password history check to remain in place and the correct password set by the user sent to Q1IM? I assume that the Password Capture Agent may need tweaking to correct this but could well be wrong and may need to look closely at the SAP__SAPUser_Update process scripts to rectify this.

Our Security team will not allow for the Password History Check to be removed for this process.

Kind regards, Paul.
