Regarding Up-gradation

Hi Team,

Currently we are using one Identity Manager Activity Directory Edition V7.1,1 and heard that the support of the tool is about to end in november 2018. Our query is, what is the impact if we use the same version? and what are the additional features that  will be available in next version? and what are the challenges in Up-gradation of V7.1.1?

  • Hello Mohamed,

You can find the complete 'Product Life Cycle & Policies" here: https://support.oneidentity.com/identity-manager/8.0.1.

As mentioned, version 7.1.1 will be under limited support as of Nov. 2018, and support will be discontinued as of March, 2019.  This means no new hotfixes, etc.

However, we strongly suggest to apply the latest service pack, SP4, as that includes any hotfixes and enhancements since the earlier releases.  You can find the complete listing in the Release Notes for each version. e.g.: https://support.oneidentity.com/technical-documents/identity-manager/7.1.4/release-notes.

The challenges involved in going to the latest service pack really depend on your current configuration, as well as system specifications, and so on.  Thus we suggest that a consultant be engaged to review with you, if possible.  Otherwise, just be sure to review system requirements, plan accordingly, and test the upgrade in a dev or test environment, if possible.  And always ensure a recent database backup!
