Unable to connect with GCC High Azure goverment tenant via Azure AD Connector

Hi All,

We are already connected with Azure AD commercial tenant using OOB connector for managing identities. Now, we have a requirement to also connect with Azure GCC High government tenant. While attempting a test connection from AAD connector (sync project), it is failing with error "ADAL exception: unknown_user_type".

I'm able to authenticate using same username and password to Azure AD.

Does Azure AD connector support connecting to Government tenant? Please note that all API endpoints on government side is different i.e ending with .us instead of .com

What is the authentication type required for GOV tenant? It may not be the same to the commercial tenant. HTH

Authentication type is same but it requires additional Authority Parameter to define AzureUSGovernment connectivity.

The AzureAD Connector only supports tenants, that are hosted in the
Azure AD Global Service cloud (https://portal.azure.com).

The national cloud deployments:
- Azure AD for US Government (https://portal.azure.us),
- Azure AD Germany (https://portal.microsoftazure.de),
- Azure AD China operated by 21Vianet are not supported (https://portal.azure.cn)
are currently not supported.
