Web Portal cannot be accessed after update to version 8.1.5

Hello,

we have built a new development environment and updated there from version 8.0.5 to version 8.1.5.
Now we are in the process of installing and configuring the servers, but we have a problem with the WebServer that should display the Web Portal.
Here we get the following message from IIS:

500 - Internal server error.
There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.

We have compared the IIS settings of the previous web server with the IIS settings on the new web server and at first glance they look the same.

When we try to publish the WebProject in WebDesigner, the old and the new server appears under Edit - Publish all - Debug.
If we call Edit - Publish all - Release, only our previous (old) server appears here.
Can this be a problem?

Is there anything else that needs to be compiled here? Or what else could we check?
Unfortunately, our external web developer is currently away, so we can't wait that long for him to come back.

Thank you for any further advice on what else we should check.

  • We have installed the WebServer. During this installation we have selected the option that the modules for the web should be taken from the database (installation source).
The display of the monitor page, as well as the page that is displayed when the maintenance mode is activated, work.

Therefore, the IIS can be excluded as the cause.

After the installation of the WebPortal we compoiled the database including all dependencies.

Afterwards we tried to compile the web project with the WebDesigner. Unfortunately also without success.
I would have some screenshots, however, I can not upload you here - on what way could I make them available here?!
