Web Portal for Application Governance

Hi Community

Please, can someone explain where I can find the “Web Portal for Application Governance”? (Version 8.2)

I supposed I read almost all the documentations I could find

(Identity Manager 8.2 - Web Portal for Application Governance User Guide (oneidentity.com), Identity Manager 8.2 - Web Application Configuration Guide (oneidentity.com))in the Internet, I even assigned the users with the application roles from the Manager, but honestly, I still do not understand where to gain access to the Application Governance. I think I am missing something, maybe I hadn’t installed all the components and modules required.

Can someone please provide me with a check list about what to do, from the very beginning (install this, this and this) to the “click here and open the Web Portal for Application Governance”?

Thank you in advance

  • The AOB portal is part of the new HTML5 web portal in 8.2.

Opening the Web Portal for Application Governance

You can reach the Web Portal for Application Governance through the Web Portal.

To open the Web Portal for Application Governance

    1. In the address line of your web browser, enter the web address (URL) of the Web Portal.

TIP: By default, the URL is http://<server name>/<application name>/, where <server name> is the name of the server on which the Web Portal is installed.

    2. On the Web Portal login page, in the User input field, enter your full user name.

    3. In the Password field, enter your personal password.

    4. Click Log in.

    5. In the menu bar, click Data administration > Applications.

NOTE: The role model stored in the database controls which Web Portal for Application Governance functions are available to you. This guide describes all the Web Portal for Application Governance functions. If you cannot find one of the functions described here in your Web Portal for Application Governance, it may be due to insufficient permissions. In this case, ask your administrator.

One IM application roles for AOB are described here: https://support.oneidentity.com/technical-documents/identity-manager/8.2/authorization-and-authentication-guide/5#TOPIC-1720978

More on that matter here: https://support.oneidentity.com/technical-documents/identity-manager/8.2/web-application-configuration-guide/9#TOPIC-1734810

  • Markus, thank you a lot for your quick reply. As always, all of us can really relay on you and your team!!

Unfortunately I did everything you copied-pasted. That’s exactly what is stated on the documentation, if I can remember well.

I also followed all the instructions I read once clicked on the two links you added at the end of your reply, so I provided my user with all the three application roles (just to be sure). I also tried to assign the same roles to other persons I can use for test, but no way I can see, in the web portal, the link “Data administration > Applications.”. Again, maybe I am missing a checkbox somewhere (for example in the web project configuration) or something else (configuration parameters in the Designer?? ).

Currently I’m trying to reinstall (this is the fourth time I tried this barbaric technique), hoping something will change.

Please, what can I try next if after the reinstallation, I still can’t see del above link?

    Thank you!

  • May I ask, did you install the AOB module together with version 8.2 of OneIM or did you add the module after the original installation?

Can you please validate, that the configuration parameter QER | ITShop | Templates | AOB is enabled? (It should be after the installation of the AOB module)

  • I did it after the original installation, but I’m pretty sure I also tried a new installation “all together” from scratch, even if I cannot remember very well as I am stuck on this issues for 3 days, so I cannot remember how many tries I did Blush

Anyway, yes, the config parm QER | ITShop | Templates | AOB is enabled and its value is set to 1. Database does not required recompilation.

  • Markus I’m not sure about how the installation of the AOB Web Module looks like, but if I can add some more details, when I search into the web designer, I cannot find anything I presume should be related to the module itself, even if I’m not even sure what to search.
