varibles to use inside mail template

You can use base properties (column values ) with the $ notation , call scripts and use their return value in the template or even process parameters with the $PC(variable)$ notation just as well.

Finally have a look at the different predefined templates for ITShop->Basic Configuration Data in Manager or Identities in Manager too.
