viHelpdesk not giving access to Help Desk in Manager tool - Version 7

Hi all,

I followed instructions on setting up an employee as a Help Desk type per https://support.software.dell.com/identity-manager/kb/194726

but if I sign into Manager as that Employee, I do not see the Help Desk menu.

Version is 7.0.1

Am I missing something?

  • I have successfully seen the Help Desk menu in Manager by login using "Active Directory User Account" instead of "Employee (Role based)". So,  Employee (Role based) authentication uses role based permissions (permission group) but I need the permissions from the viHelpDesk system user (not role based). So, I needed to use an authentifier that actually uses the permissions of the viHelpDesk system user in order to get that system user permissions instead of the role base permissions. I still have not figured out how to create a role based permission group with the permissions for the help desk and assign it to an application role to the person.
