3rd Party Ticket System Integration

Good Day, 

Require some assistance, and wondering if anyone has found a way to integrate a 3rd party ticketing system apart from Service now and Remedy. 

We have a client that previously made use of TPAM that had a database connection option, and TPAM simply did a CALL to the ticketing system to validate that a Ticket does exist and then approved the session. 

Is there any way that one can configure the SPP to communicate to a MySQL database, that the ticket system is making use of, on the same principle that TPAM used to work?
