v7.1.2- Files in app directory becoming 0 bytes

Hello,

In our staging environment we have Q1IM running for over a year. Recently we observed that on job server (1 of 2 job servers), exe files in app directory became 0 bytes. Re-installing the app did not help. We got the server re-built and reconfigured. After a couple of days we observed that exe files in the app directory on both job servers are 0 bytes. Our server admins looked into the issue and mentioned that it is related to the application and nothing abnormal on the servers. Posting here to see if any one has experienced it or has any insight into the issue

It might something to do with automatic updates. Does the account that job service is running with have the r/w permissions to this directory? They are needed for automatic update. If You are not sure about this, disable automatic update on this job server in designer and I'm pretty sure files will not go down to 0bytes any more.

Thanks for the response. I am currently getting the servers re-built. Will try the options you suggested. The job service account has r/w permissions to this directory. By automatic updates are you referring to updates from quest?

This instance worries me if the same will happen in other environments

As soon as I installed the app and started the service the files went back to 0 bytes. Not sure whats causing this
