Password Manager Passcode Generation

I'm wondering if there is a way to automate the temporary passcode generation to email when a user is added into active directory? My thinking behind this is when a user is setup in AD, we list their email address always. Once that user has been created, a passcode will be automatically generated and sent to the user via email so they can register. Is this possible?

  • Unfortunately there is no way to automate that passcode process.  The purpose of the passcode it for users who have not yet registered with Password Manager, therefore there is no way for the user to proof who they are.  It is up to the helpdesk personnel to verify the users identity then provide a Passcode for the user to use to register with Password Manager.   Automating this process could have the potential of a security risk.

    Thanks

  • That makes sense. The issue we are experiencing is when we add users into AD and email them the instructions for registering their new account on our domain with Password Manager, they sometimes never register. I then run some shell scripting that disables the users' accounts in AD and they have to reach out individually to be given the temp passcode to register. Do you have any suggestions/insights that may alleviate some of the pain points of my current process? I would like to take some of the manual work out but I'm not entirely sure how feasible that really is.
