Hiding service Item

Hi,

I have a Parent and Child service Item, when the user raises a request in IT-Shop for parent it pick the Child service item by default.

Is there any way we can hide the Child service item in It-Shop so that the user see only the parent service Item.

Thanks,

Vijay

  • Hi Vijay,

    What is your version?

Have you added the Child Service item as a dependent service item? In that case you can change whether the child service item is mandatory or optional.

There is more about this in the documentation: support.oneidentity.com/.../6

  • Hi Trevor,

Am using version 8, yes I have added the Parent - Child relationship.

Dependent service item is a template, but I don't find any option to hide in the IT-Shop and its listing with the existing groups where there is a high chance the user's might get confuse.

    Thanks,

    Vijay

  • Hi Vijay,

No, there is no option to hide the service item. That defeats the purpose of using a dependent service item, it's there to be requested.

I think a better option would be to just remove the child service item.

  • Hi Trevor,
No my child item will give access to the application with the account defination attached, if the user requesting the parent (Group) for the first time this will take the Child (template) also.
    Thanks,
    Vijay
