In this presentation, we will explore and demonstrate the use of the REST API interface of Safeguard for Privileged Sessions and its potential to streamline and enhance operational efficiency through automation. The SPS API offers powerful capabilities for monitoring, reporting, configuration management and integration to third-party tools.
In the first section we will get familiar with the concepts and the interactive use of the REST API, including the various authentication options and the details about transactional change management.
In the next section we will discuss how the state and health status of SPS can be monitored by external tools and load balancers, in order to provide real-time insights to the internal state of the appliances.
In the third section, we will cover several automated deployment and configuration topics, such as playbooks for version updates and certificate renewals and automating common configuration changes.
The last part will focus on the extraction of session data over REST API and the data visualization by PowerBI.
This session will demonstrate practical examples and strategies to unlock the full potential of the SPS API, reducing manual workloads while improving system reliability and scalability.
