[MUSIC PLAYING] My name is John Fair. I'm the director for business development at Akima, LLC. Akima is actually an Alaska-native company owned by NANA, one of the 13 original corporations created by Congress to help socio-economically develop the Alaskans for oil rights to their land. We have 13,000 shareholders in the Northwest Territory.
In today's world, it's really critical to help secure users' identities as information is all over the world, from your birthday to what you ate for dinner last night. With social media, everything's on the web. All the attacks actually come on identity of users. And users' identities are all of the world, whether it be Facebook, Twitter, you name it, work. It's all over the place.
The greatest risk for our customers is actually the unknown. They don't realize how vulnerable they really are. And they are in more of a reactive instead of proactive environment. So by the time they're actually hacked, it's too late. It's a very long time before they realize what's happened.
Identity governance is really becoming a front fire for our customers because they do not have the capability or time to really worry about it until they're facing it face to face. I think a lot of the larger companies' issues are because they cannot delegate the rights or identities properly to keep the network secure.
One of the big capabilities that our clients are really interested in in the One Identity products is the ability to control the administrators. Their administrators are currently out of control with how many they have, what they are doing day to day.
Cloud environments are really the way to a future, and we work with a lot of Department of Defense clients who have mandates to go to the cloud versus data centers. They're not really creating a new environment in that cloud. They're actually migrate into the cloud. So if they actually bring in their current environment, which has issues, they've still got issues in the cloud. So with the One Identity products, we're really helping them in that transition to get a very secure and proper environment.
One of the benefits we're seeing with the One Identity products that we're introducing is the capability to move away from the reactive back to proactive thinking and working day to day. The amount of time it takes for them to realize that something is happening on their network, it used to be months when they realized we had an issue. Now it's within days, and that's a huge part of our type of clients.
