[MUSIC PLAYING] In this video, we're going to set up PAM Essentials to be connected to your network so that we can connect your assets and allow for remote-based access into your environment.
First, we're going to navigate to Configuration. And then we're going to go down to Networks. We're also going to create a brand-new network segment. This would be if you have multiple data centers or if you'd like to connect into your cloud environment as well as your on-prem environment.
We're going to name this accordingly. This is going to connect into a data center. And then what you'll notice is that there are no agents deployed. This requires no VPN whatsoever. So what we're going to be doing is downloading an agent locally to my machine here.
And this machine will then advertise the networks that exist from this machine. We're doing a reverse tunnel from this system into the PAM Essentials cloud in order to gain access to the network, to rotate passwords, to manage systems, to allow for remote access.
Now that the agent has been downloaded, I'll go ahead and double-click that agent. And we're going to run through the installation. We'll accept the terms here. We'll click on Install. And this will run through, install the agent locally to my system. And then any network that my system has access to, it will allow more connectivity.
You'll see here, it's just running through the initial configuration. Once it's done, we'll tell it to launch the network agent on the system itself. It's going to request that I finish. And then once the agent starts, it's going to tell me that it needs to be connected.
So this will connect the agent to your specific tenant by clicking on Connect. And you'll see that the secure gateway has been authorized based upon my clicking on the agent itself. See that it appears as connected. And I'll go ahead and close this window and do a quick refresh.
And you'll see that there is an agent available within the data center. And it's connected, and the status is fine. This is how you would connect an agent to your network. You can also add multiple agents to the same network for redundancy or load balancing. And you can also add agents to other networks just by adding additional segments and then downloading that agent.
It's usually best that you're logged in to PAM Essentials when doing this process on that particular system because it will allow you to automatically authenticate, as we saw during this procedure.
