[BRIGHT, UPBEAT MUSIC] In this multi-part video series, we will be demonstrating how to activate and configure the new PAM Essentials Module within OneLogin. To do this, navigate to your OneLogin instance and log in with an administrative account. Once logged in, you will notice that there is a new call to action on the far right. By clicking on Learn More about PAM Essentials hyperlink, you'll be taken to the PAM Essentials Free Trial Signup page.
On this page, we can see some of the functions and features within the product, including the following-- the ability to effectively manage and control privileged user access from OneLogin across all your resources. Improve your security posture while reducing your attack surface. No requirements for VPNs, multiple logins, and complex access management processes. And, the ability to defend against modern threats and meet audit requirements by keeping unauthorized users out.
By clicking on the Sign Up For a New Free Trial, this will activate the new PAM Essentials module. Now the module has been activated, there are four new roles that have been created within OneLogin. To view these Roles, click View New Roles.
The first of the roles is the One Identity Cloud Admins. This role is reserved for future use by One Identity Cloud Tools and should not be used at this time. The second new role, One Identity PAM Admins. This role was used to grant PAM Admins full configuration and audit access to the PAM Administration Interface.
The third new role, One Identity PAM Auditors. This role is used to grant PAM Auditors access to PAM sessions and read-only access to the PAM Administration Interface. The fourth new role, One Identiy PAM Users. This role is required for access to the PAM User Portal for launching privileged access sessions.
Access policies determine which assets and privileged accounts a OneLogin role can use. However, without this role, users will not be able to launch sessions. PAM Admins and Auditors do not have access to the PAM User Portal by default for separation of duties.
How to access PAM Administration. Click the Privileged Access link under Modules to access the PAM Administration Interface. Navigate back to your OneLogin instance Home Page. Here, you will see the call to action on the right-hand side has been removed and Modules has been added as an option at the top of the screen.
By clicking on Modules, you can see the Privileged Access submenu is available. Click on this. You will now be redirected to the PAM Essentials Portal. Please follow the series which shows how to configure your environment to work with PAM Essentials.
